I got tired of cranking manual can openers, and cleaning them up. After reading a bunch of reviews, I decided to give this one a try. I like it. I think it's cute the way its little rear end goes up in the air when it starts working. I've only had it a couple of months, but no problems so far. It works well as long as you attach it to the can properly. It stays clean – it can go right back into the drawer with no washing. The sound changes when it has made a complete circuit around a can, which is helpful, because you can tell it's time to press the button to put it in reverse and stop it. I'm giving it 4 stars because it's a little slower than I'd like it to be.

This is one of those kitchen tools that just does its job. The simplicity of use is where this opener shines. There is a very small learning curve to get great results, taking just a couple of uses to understand the alignment requirements.Basically you need to tilt the body above the can (more than what I would expect) and push the button. It runs laps around the can until you tap the button again to stop. Afterward, set the opener on the counter and lift the lid off the can. I did notice shavings on the first couple of cans, but my wife showed me how to tilt the opener to eliminate this. Get this, she read the directions first!!! No, really. She did. Who does that?
