Been in the market for an affordable chef knife. Came across this one, and gotta say pretty impressive. Well not a complete five star item, yes it's very sharp but only had it a week as of writing this review (will update as usage goes on). The handle is faux wood aka just a chuncky plastic handle. What would have been great if the handle had more weight to it so the knife can be balanced. Unfortunately, it's not the blade has more so it's gonna feel front end heavy. Keep mind if you don't have proper handling technique holding the knife is gonna feel akward for you as well. Overall, it's a three and half star but had to give it a four.

This knife has stayed sharp the entire time I've had it, given, that's only a few months. I find the knife is easier to handle than knives with flat/square handles. The octagon grip is easy to grab onto even if your hands are wet, but I wouldn't trust it completely given the fact that the wooden handle is polished. The grip is also sturdy and doesn't wiggle at all.The knife also looks great and comes looking exactly how you would think. The picture is not a polished version, this knife really comes in great condition. It also comes extremely sharp out of the box! I could cut through magazine paper by simply applying pressure.One thing to note is that there is no blade cover with this item. The box it comes with is nice, but cardboard, and there is a nice little cloth that comes with it that is useful for getting excess water off.

So... I wanted a knife that was affordable but nice to use and after watching a Youtube video on just that, I chose this knife for my drawer (before I go further, the other half has a Dexter that is my very favorite, but I don't cook nearly as much as they do). This knife is exactly what the video entailed. It cuts nicely and looks pretty. The only downsides are that the balance is just a tidge off. Not enough to lose a star, but the other half complains about it (which is just fine by me.. it's MY knife). Also, tends to need a little convincing on harder to cut things, like tomatoes, but seriously.. only the Dexter knife doesn't have an issue with those little buggers. If you're looking for something that makes you look like you know kinda what you're doing in the kitchen for not a whole lot of money, get this.
