I wanted a good set of sharp knives for cooking and these are amazing. Good grip handles (no slipping and cutting myself). Very sharp (think easy to cut a tomato). Easy to clean. Love them.

Well, the title kind of gives it away.These came sharp enough that my six year old could use them, fairly uncoordinated and lacking muscle as he is, and cleanly and (fairly) neatly cut up his own steak at the dinner table. And my wife is not known for cooking the softest, most delicate steak.A few minutes with a sharpening stone, and now they pass through my wife's vulcanized "baked chicken" with little more than the knife's own weight. I keep them in a generic block on the dinner table, because they're fairly attractive as well as being useful. Definitely worth picking up for an addition to your kitchen. Beats the hell out of serrated junk.

These knives shine with an impressive look and feel. The razor-sharp edge is superb and the block is elegant. I only wish the set had a santuko and edging rod.

I’m in love with these knives. I researched the heck out of knives, before settling on these. They are exactly what I wanted. They are beautiful, very chic and modern, and the block is of good quality. These knives are razor sharp, already cut myself once, cause I’ve gotten too accustomed to my dull knives.In testing them, the chef knife just about fell through a tomato and a head of lettuce. Chopped pecans like a dream. Have already used the steak knives as well, and they were fantastic. Much better than sawing through meat with a serrated knife.They are well balanced, and the handles are very comfortable to hold. The rubbery grip makes me feel very secure, especially with how sharp these are. For the money, I think these are a steal!

These knives are sharp, cut beautifully, and feel well balanced in your hand. I'm no chef, but I enjoy home cooking and these knives get a lot of use in my home.

Short Answer: Absolutely love these knives and would highly recommend them!Long answer: Not sure why, but I have always used knives with a serrated edge. A friend said he always used a straight edge and only needs to run them over a sharpening rod each time, then an occasional fine sharpening for a razor sharp edge, he slices through meat, veggies like butta :)!I hesitated to purchase this set due to the low price. I figured how could they be when you usually have to spend hundreds, but hey, I'm used to serrated knives at $5/set.Luckily we are near a grocery store that sells the greatest Angus beef, strip steaks, and on their own, they have always been excellent, but when slicing through a steak, there was always some resistance with our old knives, but never really thought much about it. The first time we used these, we thought, well maybe the steak was extra tender, like a filet, but with flavor! Sorry, filet lovers!The next time we had beef, same thing!I will never use a serrated knife again. It takes some practice to learn how to perfectly sharpen a straight edge, but once you get it down, and it isn't long, you will also be a convert. I'm not a knife connoisseur, but these are fantastic! As Cramer says, "Buy, Buy, Buy!!!"

Finally, a steak knife that can be sharpened. I was at my son's for the holiday and he handed me a Chicago Cutlery knife and I was really impressed with the quality. In the past I have had set after set of knives that had a serrated edge and all they seem to do is tear rather than cut the meat. These actually cut and are not serrated and so I can actually sharpen them and great quality to boot.

got these in october. have been using them daily. these are great quality knives and very reasonably priced. I have been using the same two steak knives over and over again just to test the edge resilience and I haven't had to sharpen either one yet, they are still pretty much as sharp as the other steak knives in the set that I haven't used. I cook dinner for my wife and I at least five times a week, usually seven since the pandemic, and these knives have held up very well. like I said, I haven't had to sharpen any of them yet and use them heavily. I do hand wash them and dry them immediately. if you don't mind having to at some point in the future sharpen these knives (which I haven't needed to in six months), this is a much better route to go than Cutco simply considering how much knife you are getting for your money with this set. I grew up with a set of Cutco knives at my parents' house and am glad that I purchased these knives instead of spending $2000 dollars on a similar set from cutco that in my opinion isn't that much different unless you really don't like sharpening knives (never had to sharpen the cutco knives) however haven't had to sharpen these either, yet. good steel, as a knife guy I know these will take an edge very easily and they certianly retain the edge for a very long time.

This is my favorite set of kitchen knives! They are so sharp. I love how organized I am now with the wooden knife holder that comes with it for my counter.
