Issue with initial product but after contacting IYOUNG directly, I had a working replacement within a few days. Prompt customer service. Takes a little practice to balance the bulb, you'll have to trust that it will levitate about 3/4 inch above the base. Cool product, I like watching it spin.

Bought this for my 4th grade son’s magic act. We were surprised at how hard it was to balance just so, but with practice it gets easier and once you find the sweet spot it stays there pretty good. Definitely works. The bulb has been dropped several times on concrete and pulled on and off the base repetitively and still works like a champ. Base is definitely plastic with wood grain. Worked even with fabric between the base and the bulb. Forgive the duck tape on it in the picture our goal was not cool office light but embedded into a table top.

It's a nicely crafted piece, looks ornate, and certainly was in-keeping with our higher-end decor. The bulb seems to move a lot, obviously given no friction, when the air conditioning turns on,
