I've used similar Solar decorative lights before. They usually last 1 season. I do not remove once installed as way too involved to do so as I use these around my Koi Pond for Decor as well as aid in preventing unwanted animal infiltration. Now, this time, after testing, I used a Hot Glue gun and sealed up wherever water may Penetrate. Lights I tossed away had rotted out in many spots do to H2O infiltration. I'm simply looking to avoid changing these out each season. I also cable tie to sm. posts around Pond, then Hot glue as well. Above the fireflies I have fishing line. This combo has served very well to ward off unwanted visitors who wish to snack on my Babies! Also, on the set I just replaced with these, ( diff. Co. & thy wr Bees), I noticed that the Solar collector/Battery/controll unit will have the Solar Cell top become whited out from U/V Rays. I used a lens cleaner/restorer but that only held up for a few days. In addition to hot gluing whr I think H2O will get in, I will be spraying Armorall U/V protectant onto the Cells. I'll try once/wk. All these kinds of products are cheaply made, from China. So, I'm the kind of guy who understands this, But, I also wish to protect my installation efforts as best I can by investing in prevention techniques as described. Each season I press on learning from last. These lights are very cool looking in a Dark yard. They have on/off & separate switch for multiple modes of flasing/ alternating of same. Also, wire from last light to control unit is fairly long and even more than I needed to hide behind Pond water fall. In my pix, there are two sets of these firefly lights. Oh, after a sunny day, in constant-On, mode, lights stay lit ,until morning! Batteries are decent, then! Will try to remember to update here, in fall of 2021. Be well ! UPDATE: 11/21/21- All operating well with little issue. As I figured, the Solar Cell Power supplies Top ( face) have an ongoing issue with becoming whited out thereby restricting the amount of sunlight to fully charge the Batteries. So, I've had to 2x/month, clean collector surface with a Lens cleaner sand pads. I'll let these go all winter and post back an update in Spring. Have a safe Winter, and remember to NOT feed your Fish, in the Winter!
