I tried a set of two strings from Home Depot and another set from Amazon (HBN 48ft Outdoor String Lights) based on their lower cost. The Home Depot set had no remote so you had to push a button on the power cord to cycle through the various colors and modes-a real pain. The HBN string was long enough, but the "remote" was an app for iPhone. It was hard to find the correct app (instructions not clear) and had to search by company name to find it. Then when it asked for our wifi id and password we decided we were not comfortable giving that to a Chinese company, and so it was returned.So the 3RD set was this Enbrighten set, also 48 feet long and hung on the ceiling of our deck. These are much heavier (the cords are twice as thick as the HBN) and weather proof (resistant) and it comes with a stand alone remote. Everything worked right out of the box, the remote works all the modes, on and off, and we've been able to select various colors (red and green for Christmas) and 3 or 4 shades of white which we will use for sitting out around our firepit. We are extremely happy with these outdoor patio lights; they were over twice as expensive as the first two sets, but they are will worth it!

Other reviewers remark about the heft but it is worth repeating. We are so used to cheap knockoffs and cut corners that it is noteworthy. Do NOT buy Amazon's suggested hooks - they are not heavy enough and would rip out in the wind. Wait until you see them and determine what you need.I cannot fathom the reviewers that are complaining about lack of this or that. You have a remote control that INSTANTLY changes 16 colors with dozens of preset and custom options! If you cannot set a mood with these lights you need to hire a contractor. From Disneyland.I bought as a test for an upcoming backyard wedding and expect I will buy another 1/2 dozen sets. They exceed my expectations. The quality and heft and color options are better than anything else I've seen at a restaurant or anywhere else. It will be fun as a relatively affordable (in wedding $ at least) way to snaz up my backyard with something unique. People have seen Christmas lights and backyard LEDs but not like these.A note on brightness. There are 10 settings but these are decorative. If you need to, say, light up a coal mine or something, these are not for you.

We were looking to go with an outdoor lighting that had a vintage look, but using LED lights. We tried a couple of sets that claimed to be vintage, but when you turned them on, the lighting was white. The beauty of these is you can change the colors for the mood/season. We have been using a color that looks very vintage - kind of an yellowish/orange look and its awesome. Using the "mode" button on the remote, there is approximately 10 pre configured modes - one of them is a Fall mode, which has 3 different colors used and it looks really great - yellow/orange/red however they are very similar in color. It looks great! They also make it very easy to use 2 different colors. Simply press "color 1", choose the color and press "color 2" and choose the second one. The lighting has memory so every night when they turn on, it keeps the desired color. The quality of the cabling and lights is 10X better than I expected. I cannot express how happy I am with this selection. For Halloween, I'll switch to orange/purple, for Christmas, red and green, for 4th of July, red/blue/white. These lights are Epic. Incredible job Enbrighten! Love the innovation and high quality.

I have four sets of these Embrighten Lights - two 48 foot Vintage, one 36 foot Classic, and one 24 foot Classic. Some pictures are of just the Vintage sets before I put the others up. One remote controls all of the lights, but I have to make sure I'm where they'll all respond. If one string doesn't respond, I just move a little and try again. There are two main differences in the Vintage and Classic: the size of the bulbs and the color temperature of the white. The Classic bulbs are smaller, as you can see in the pictures, but for me, that's not a problem at all. Other than the single "White" setting, the colors match - all strings do the same thing and have the same colors - all colors fading, strobing, twinkling … red, green, etc. - they match and look beautiful. Even when using "Strobe" or "Fade," when the color changes to white, they match. The only time they don't match is when using the "White" button on the remote for the static white color. The Vintage is at 2200K and the Classic is at 2700K. The Classic is a brighter white. But again, that's only when using the "White" button for a non-changing white color. That's seldom my choice anyway. I bought color lights for the colors. These are wonderful.

Expensive? Yes! Quality and absolutely beautiful colors and combinations? HECK YEAH!!!! Many people have already commented and I recommended them to come here. We have two of the large packs to add style and beautiful light to our campsite at night. It really works so well and LEDS might just outlive us, so DON'T HESITATE! Nothing worse than replacing cheezy bulbs at every turn. These are stunning and an overall winner!

These lights are absolutely amazing and worth every penny! The size of the “bulb” is the same size as a full-size Edison bulb. I state “bulb“ in quotation because it’s actually a gorgeous, resin type material that houses the LED light. As described, the lights are very heavy duty. My husband installed wire cabling to hold up the weight of the strands. However, living in AZ with summer monsoons, we do not expect to have any problems leaving the bulbs up all year. The versatility of choosing your own color patterns for parties, birthdays, entertaining, and the holidays is incredible! A less expensive version of the Enbrighten lights is sold at brick-and-mortar stores, however, the bulb size is significantly smaller. If you are in doubt about spending this much money (we were too) it’s well worth it!
