I used the sticky pads to install but steam was a bit of a problem so since they are out of sight I added some gorilla tape but the metal clips that they include might have been better. To decide how tidy the mounts need to look sit down in areas that view the cupboards and look towards the counter to see what shows. I didn't need to adjust brightness so just left the switch on brightest setting. And since the switch isn't exactly a decorator item I got a remote wall switch to turn the lights on and off from a better location than fumbling with the cord switch. I use these switches for various switching activities without the need for messy wiring. Search for DEWENWILS Remote Control Outlet if interested in such a contraption.

Aside from having to lie on the counter and work with my hands over my head, installation was easy. It would be nice if they gave you a template or dimensions for how far apart to put the brackets. But that's not enough to drop a star for. The lights are clean looking when installed and plenty bright.

At first I didn't understand how to run all 6 lights in series with the supplied connectors and use all 6 lights. I finally layed all of 6 lights on the floor like I planned on installing in the cabinet. I drilled holes on each end of the shelf and ran the wires. Great light set!! Very bright and more than enough wire to space out in a big cabinet. I'm very happy to put my " treasures in a safe well bright cabinet.

We have black granite counters and black granite full length back splashes that make the areas under our cupboards very dark. They were too dark to see printing in cookbooks. Unlike other sets, this one has two types of extenders that allow you to either connect the very bright light bars into a long bar or to connect them together with short cords. The short cords make it easy to go around corners or over dividers on the bottoms of the cupboards. They provide both brackets that can be screwed into the cupboards or the easier version, very strong double sided tape. I am a 70 year old woman and it took me about an hour to install these. These are touch controlled via a control in the cord about 3.5 feet from the plug. The control requires that you touch the switch to turn it on and adjust the brightness between 3 different levels. To turn it off you just touch the switch for about 5 seconds. I chose this type over a motion activated type because i didnt want it to turn on every time someone walked by. I am very pleased with their quality and the ease of operation and installation.

I bought these to replace some aging under counter lights that used G-8 bulb. I tried replacing the G-8 bulbs with LEDs but those replacements were garbage, burning out quicker than incandescent. These are supposed to last 15,000 hours. We'll see. They were very easy to install. I did not used the double sided tape to mount the lights, preferring the supplied screws. I know they won't fail. I did use the supplied double sided tape to secure the dimmer switches under the cabinets and the tape does a good job of holding them in place. I have 14 of the 1 foot lights lighting my countertop now and it looks like day light. I would prefer a warmer looking light but LEDs tend to be a cold, white light. I have them hooked up to a switch and they all come on at once with the switch. I wish the dimmer would remember where it was set when they last had power but they always come on full bright. The light to light pig tails were limiting in how you could do your installation so I also bought a roll of wire, some pig tailed plugs and heat shrink tubing and made my own custom length leads where the supplied ones wouldn't really work. Overall I am very happy with the lights. I'll be happier still if they last several years as advertised but only time will tell.

I love these thin LED lights for cabinet lighting but one problem I've had is with the dimmer. Instead of the typical rotary dial dimmers on other cabinet lighting, the four detent button on this one is difficult to use and not consistent. Hard to believe it made through their design trials. The other problem is finding the smaller 3.5mm dimmers or 3.5/5.5mm adapters on Amazon to fit in a 5.5mm rotary dimmer I already had. I miss having a Radio Shack for stuff like this.
